Salut 🙂 Scuza-ma ca postez aici, intrebarea mea neavand legatura cu articolul. Imi poti spune ce alimente mai „ciudate” consumau ciclistii in trecut? Imi aduc aminte ca ai mai vorbit despre asta in timpul transmisiunilor, despre porumbei sau fân (?), dar nu mai tin minte cine si ce consuma. Iar pe internet nu am gasit (sau nu am stiut sa caut). Voiam sa vad daca acele alimente erau doar mituri sau ajutau intr-adevar la performantele sportive.

Porumbelul gatit si mancat este o superstitie a lui Bart Wellens (din ciclo-cross), face asta inainte de fiecare cursa. Superstitiile sunt des intalnite in ciclism: rutierii nu se barbieresc in ziua cursei, poarta sosete despre care considera ca le aduc noroc, nu isi ofera sarea la masa, nu vorbesc despre cat de mult timp a trecut de la ultima pana sau cazatura suferita.
In alta ordine de idei, in anii ’60, unii soigneuri cumparau mancare pentru vite, o fierbeau cu diverse ingrediente si turnau amestecul in bidoanele rutierilor, teoria lor fiind ca va fi absorbita si va ramane in stomac, iar astfel, muschii nu vor fi tensionati si nu vor aparea crampele. Un ciclist care a incercat de mai multe ori asta a fost Tom Simpson.
Tot cam in acea perioada, Jacques Anquetil nu dadea nicio importanta alimentatiei. Manca scoici dimineata, consuma sampanie cu ele, dupa care mergea la antrenamente. Facea exces dupa exces, fara sa sufere consecinte majore. Un alt exemplu: in Turul Frantei din 1964, in ziua de pauza petrecuta in Andorra, a mancat miel la protap. E adevarat, a doua zi a fost lasat in urma, dar dupa ce a baut sampanie in timpul cursei, si-a revenit.
Inaintea lui, Fausto Coppi ducea un regim de viata aproape spartan, asta si pentru ca asa fusese invatat de maseurul lui, dar si deoarece avea un ulcer care de multe ori il supara si ii crea probleme mari, mai ales cand manca pui in timpul curselor. Pe de alta parte, Gino Bartali pierdea noptile in oras, mergea la cinema, fuma si bea, dar nimic nu il afecta, din contra, atunci cand adversarii se asteptau sa clacheze, el era cel care ii lasa in urma.
